Now to Port-aux-Basques

Yes, we eschewed Labrador and crossed the St Lawrence instead, and circumnavigated the Gaspé, preferring the north shore

to the touristic Percé

and the south shore. Today we skedaddled across NB and NS on a bright fall day.

Food. We have had three memorable meals in three days. Dinner at Le Rafiot (meaning unseaworthy boat) in Matane, our first stop on the north shore of the Gaspé; lunch yesterday at the Centre Culturel in l'Anse au Grffon, almost at the eastern point along the north shore of the Gaspé; and tonight's dinner at the Black Spoon in North Sydney. The Quebec gastronomy reinforced our prejudice that Québécois appreciate life. The Black Spoon suggests Portland is everywhere.

Now it's overnight to Port-aux-Basques
